Assessment

A Paediatric occupational therapy (OT) assessment evaluates a child’s ability to perform everyday activities, also known as occupations, in the context of their age, development, and environment.

How does Assessment work?

An assessment is completed to evaluate a child’s development and understand their strengths and challenges. An assessment may include a combination of child observations, standardised assessment tools, consultation with carers and educators, and questionnaires. Goals for therapy will be established based on the outcome of the assessment. Assessments may be completed in the OT Kids clinic, school, pre-school or home.
